FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
In the course of time some questions about motors, wiring, application etc. have arisen. These questions are dealt with below. These are personal experiences or experiences of other hobby brewers. The answers serve as an indication and are completely non-binding! I make no claim to completeness. The assembly and the use takes place always on own danger. The content is constantly updated and adapted on the basis of the latest findings/questions.
Which motors are suitable for the agitators shown?
All shafts are manufactured so that they can be operated with a windscreen wiper motor. The windscreen wiper motor offered in the shop is sufficient up to the 70 litre class.
Which power supplies are suitable for the motors?
For the motors the power supply mentioned in the shop is sufficient.
Is the direction of rotation of the motors important?
The "natural" direction of rotation" of a windscreen wiper motor is counterclockwise (if you look into the pot from above). This is why the paddle is also edged accordingly. If you let the motor run clockwise, electrolysis etc. may occur.
Motor connection kit: How to connect the motors
The easiest way is to connect the above mentioned power supply and the wiper motor with flat receptacles. The negative pole must be connected to the housing and the positive pole can then be connected to one of the other pins.
How do I fix the shaft adapter permanently to the motor shaft?
The "natural" direction of rotation of the windscreen wiper is counterclockwise (if you look into the pot from above) - Explanation: see question 3. The counterforces of the mash would cause the agitator shaft and paddle to turn off and fall into the pot. To prevent this, the shaft adapter must be permanently connected to the motor shaft. My recommendation is to use a medium strength thread adhesive. The motor shaft and also the thread of the shaft adapter should be free of grease and clean. The agitator shaft is then fixed and secured with a split pin. The agitator shaft can then be removed for cleaning.

Where can I find instructions for shower controls?
Below are two solutions that are most frequently used in the Hobby Brewers Forum.
A very popular shower control, which is based on the Raspberry, is the CraftBeerPi

A shower control from the Hobybbrauerforum, which is based on an Arduino, is the All-in-One control.

Shipping to Switzerland
Shipping to Switzerland can be handled via https://meineinkauf.ch/ . The goods will be delivered to you duty paid and tax paid. Shipping with DHL from Germany to Switzerland costs 31,99 Euro. If the import is processed via MeinEinkauf, the shipping costs only 5.99 euros (since the shipping address is in Germany) + a service fee from MeinEinkauf (14.90 CHF). Overall, this solution is cheaper and more convenient.
